Drumroll, please.

Dear readers,

guess what was in the mail the other day...

I was totally surprised because I didn't expect my new uniform to be delivered until the end of February. Not that I'd be complaining though.

Summer uniform

My first impression of the summer dress: I like the fabric of the dress. And it would be really comfy to wear - if it wouldn't be so tight in the chest and shoulder area. If it was just a tiny bit narrower the seams would probably burst. So I'm not quite sure if I can pull this off as summer uniform. In everyday wear the dress will probably be ruined pretty quickly. It's a shame, because it really looks nice (well, it would look better on a thinner person). The bow in the back is a nice touch, too.

Oh, and I almost died of laughter when I read the following advice:

Keep away from fire ... who would have thought that? It's a good thing that they've put it in there. :o)

Winter uniform

First impression: It looks a lot better than my old uniform. My old uniform was basically navy blue from head to toe. The new uniform looks much more colorful and "friendly". The new gymslip is also shorter than the old one. I think it has the perfect length now. The blazer also fits better at the arms/sleeves.

I love it. Yeah, I think I'm in love with my new (winter) uniform. It's totally comfy and it looks pretty.

I wonder if I will wear this uniform more often, compared to the old one...

Anyway, keep away from the fire, people.

  1. So glad you went to John Lewis for the summer dress, it looks lovely. The dresses are starting to appear in shops now, but only John Lewis do such big sizes, everywhere else stops at 12 or 13. Even if you don't wear it often, it's there if you want a change. As for the 'fire' statement on the label, it's on almost every item of clothing here in the UK - health and safety gone mad, as we say.

  2. Today I bought a summer dress from John Lewis and feel exactly the same way as you - it's a bit tight at the top, but at least I can get into it - the Marks and Spencers equivalent is just a bit too small. However the BHS 'generous fit' dress from last year is still a perfect fit, even if it's not as pretty as the M&S or John Lewis dresses.

Please don't post anonymously. I'd like to know who's reading me blog, so it would be nice if you would at least select "Name/URL" and put in your name. Thank you.
